What Is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding means protecting children and young people from:
-
Physical, emotional or sexual abuse
-
Neglect
-
Bullying, harassment or discrimination
-
Exploitation or inappropriate behaviour
-
Online or social media risks
This applies to all Track Academy activities, including training sessions, competitions, trips, camps and online communication.
How to Raise a Concern
You should report a concern if:
- A child tells you something worrying
- You notice unusual or concerning behaviour
- You are worried about something you have seen, heard or been told
You do not need proof – concerns should be reported if something doesn’t feel right.
Step 1
Contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead (details above).
Step 2
Provide as much information as possible (who, what, when, where).
Step 3
Track Academy will take appropriate action, which may include contacting England
Athletics, social services or the police.
All concerns are handled confidentially, sensitively and seriously.
