Activities
Athletics
We train at the Willesden Sports Centre three times a week. Our sessions are held on:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 6.30pm
Saturdays from 11am to 12.30pm
Our main training programme is open to young people aged between 10 and 21 years old and costs XXX a term. We focus on the three disciplines of athletics – running, jumping and throwing – and encourage our student-athletes to attend meets across the country. We also hold our own indoor and outdoor competitions each year which see huge numbers of entries from people of all ages from across London.
Multi-skills
Our younger athletes, aged between five and ten, enjoy multi-skills sessions on:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 5pm
Saturdays from 10am to 11am
Learning the basics of athletics through a series of fun activities, the juniors develop skills including , teamwork and leadership.
Our multi-skills athletes are invited to participate in minithons at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre in Edmonton three times a year. Competing against children from other clubs gives them invaluable experience in disciplines like long jump, hurdles, sprinting and javelin. They can also take part in our own indoor and outdoor meets at the Willesden Sports Centre in the summer and winter.
We improve ‘physical literacy’ which is obviously jargon but want it to be clear they benefit on a broad and key level if there’s anything else we can add to convey this.
