Track Academy’s popular open competition returns to the Willesden Sports Centre on Thursday, with 80 athletes already signed up to take part.
Entry to the event costs £8, with registration closing today (Monday, July 11).
Athletes will compete in races including the 75m for under-11s, along with the 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 800m and one mile runs. The events will be electronically timed, with the competition as a whole certified by British Athletics. Guest of honour will be Brent mayor Lia Colacicco.
As a registered charity, Track Academy will also be holding a fundraising raffle; prizes include a Mercedes-Benz men’s watch and polo shirts. Tickets cost from £2.
Track Academy founder and director Connie Henry MBE said: “The open competition is a really popular event in our calendar and we can’t wait to see the talent on display this year. Everyone is welcome to come and cheer on the athletic stars of the future at the Willesden Sports Centre.”
