Athletes from Track Academy and our partner club Thames Valley Harriers brought home six gold medals, one silver and four bronzes from the Tri-Counties Championships at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.
Reece Earle was a double gold winner, beating the championship record in the 200m senior men’s race in a time of 21.83 seconds, and storming to victory in the 60m senior men’s race in 6.89s. Demario Seaton took gold in the U20 men’s 200m in 23.46s, and also made the U20 men’s 60m final.
Meanwhile, the clubs’ women were just as impressive. Beulah Badero took gold in both the U20 women’s 200m (26.44s) and the 60m with a personal best of 7.85s. Her teammate Zoe Dolan also secured gold and a PB in the 60m U17 hurdles, coming in at 9.35s.
Josh Kelly was another athlete clocking up a personal best, taking silver in the 200m senior men’s race with a time of 22.38s. Bronze medals were won by Clyda Anucha (60M Sen Men, 6.96s, PB) Daniel Lavin (200M Sen Men, 23.36s, PB), Kaydiann Thompson (200m U20 Women, 27.28s, PB), Yiheng Wu (400m Sen Men 57.71s).
Track Academy director Connie Henry, who set up the charity in 2007, said: “This is truly amazing – 17 years on and we are still winning medals! Thank you to coach Lumar Sylvester for all his hard work with our athletes, which has led to such incredible results.”
