Track Academy, founded by Connie Henry, are a registered charity using sport for social mobility among young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We use athletics to engage young people at risk; providing inspiration, role models and a structured pathway for them to gain better academic qualifications and positive achievements on and off the track. We help young minds believe that they are more than the circumstances to which they are born. The focus is majorly on Sports Program, Education Program and Mentorship Program.

Job Summary

You will be filling in application forms and applying for grants. You would be happy working in a quiet environment or even at home and focusing on deadlines and on budgets. You would be especially comfortable with the written word with excellent comprehension skills which allow you to elaborating with detail on specifically asked questions on application forms.

Support and training will be given.

Salary Offered:

2 days a week

£144  to £240 a week      -      Depending on experience

Job Description

Grant Management

  • Complete and submit to funders mid-term and final reports, and other required paperwork
  • Work with finance staff to track fund disbursement and develop financial reports
  • Maintain grant-related reference resources including funder research files, grant application deadlines, grant reporting schedules, and other information as needed

Relationship Building

  • Research and contact potential foundation and corporate funders to support program, organizational development, capital, and other Track Academy Programs
  • Establish and expand relationships with grant funders and trustees
  • Work to produce annual release
  • Communicate regularly with local, state, and national legislators

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of grant research and application processes.
  • Knowledge of government and non-government grant programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and use innovative techniques and ingenuity to prepare grant applications.
  • Ability to coordinate grant projects
  • Communicate effectively, both orally, and in writing.
  • Organize information clearly and precisely.
  • Coordinate and work with other departments.
  • Coordinate the timing of projects.

FREE LEVEL 1 COACHING BADGE OPPORTUNITY AT TRACK ACADEMY

Track Academy are recruiting for an Athletics Coach. This is a great opportunity for newly qualified Athletics Coach/ Assistant Athletics Coach to gain valuable Coaching experience under the guidance of experienced and renowned National and International Coaches.

Track Academy are also offering FREE level 1 Coaching Assistance badge to non-qualified Coaches aiming to kick start a role in Coaching.

The right candidate will join an Academy where Athletes of all abilities are coached and developed to be medal winning champions!

We operate 52 weeks a year.

WHERE - Willesden Sports Centre, Donnington Road, London NW10 3QX.

WHEN - Tuesdays: 4pm–5.30pm / 5pm–6.30pm, Thursdays: 5pm-6.30pm, Saturdays: 10am- 11am / 11am-12.30pm

Desirable:
  • First Aid trained

Accountable to: Education and Mentoring Coordinator Responsible for: Connie Henry’s Track Academy Supplementary School Athletes (both under 18s and 18+) Location: Capital City Academy G9/G9a (NW10 3ST) and Meeting Room, Willesden Sports Centre (NW10 3QX) Hourly rate: £15 per hour DBS disclosure: Enhanced DBS required Key duties and responsibilities Responsibilities
  • Meet and tutor students and the designation location and times.
  • Undertake some liaison and teamwork duties in order to contribute to the integrated nature of the project and implement Track Academy’s wider goals such as:
    • Attending scheduled staff meeting, briefings, parent-teacher interviews/pastoral meetings.
    • Participating in professional development opportunities.
  • Complete requested administrative tasks accurately and on time
    •   Prepare a comprehensive learning programme.
    • Plan and submit lessons ahead of time including resources for the delivery of tuition.
    • Assess and track the progress of athletes with standardised tests every 6 weeks.
    • Write termly student reports (end of Autumn, Spring and Summer).
  • Identify individual learning styles and needs and plan learning experiences that will enable all students to achieve success.
  • Be able to differentiate between different learning needs and accommodate all varying intellectual needs.
  • Know and understand a range of learning methodologies and technologies and their application in the classroom.
  • Ensure appropriate content of teaching and learning in line with curriculum demands.
  • Ensure the wellbeing of athletes by:
    • Sharing supervision duties with other staff diligently.
    • Appropriately assisting students who are hurt, sick or in distress.
    • Identifying child protection risks.
Classroom management and behaviour education
  • Establish positive and maintain a task orientated learning environment.
  • Set and adhere to timelines for completion of work.
  • Negotiate and implement consequences, if expectations are not adhered to.
  • Respond appropriately to student behaviour and escalate prolonged, repeated or severely irresponsible behaviour to your coordinator.
Assessment and reporting of student learning
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and achievement.
  • Use assessment tasks that are purposeful and relevant to the teaching and learning programme and the learning needs of students
  • Provide students with positive feedback on performance that reinforces student achievement and focuses on improvement.
  • Provide detailed, accurate and informative written and oral reports about students as required by the school.
  Additional duties/responsibilities The nature of Track Academy work is such that tasks and responsibilities can be unpredictable and/or varied. All staff are therefore expected to work in a flexible manner when tasks that are not specifically covered in their job description have to be undertaken. Track Academy, a registered Sport for Social Change Charity, are currently looking for a qualified intern to join our marketing, corporate partnership development and fundraising team. This intern should be prepared to work 2 days a week (Wednesdays and Thursday) for a minimum period of 6 months. The ability to work independently and think critically in a team environment is a must. The internship entails working as corporate ambassador, to help strengthen our ties with local businesses through attending professional networking meetings to inspire them to support us. Your role will be to inspire these organisations to develop short and long term partnerships with our charity through involvement with one off events, monthly giving, participation in challenge events, donating pennies in their pay cheque, pay role giving schemes, amongst others. The ideal candidate will finish the internship having gained a broad experience in various aspects of development and management of marketing, partnerships and fundraising campaigns in the charity sector. NB: Please note that we are not able to offer a salary for this position; however, the fundraising aspect of this internship comes with attractive performance-based financial compensation in form of commissions.
